Summer Sizzle~ Team Lampkin

Will and I ran in the Summer Sizzle at the Reservoir this weekend. We ran the 2 mile and our time was 19:11. We had so much fun! We ran together the entire time, he was so sweet to run a slower pace so I could keep up with him. Thanks for running with me honey!Us before the race
Wendy and Kelley ran too~ they've just recently started running and did awesome!
More Canton running folks~
Us after the race- see the sweaty faces
Terry, Jean Elaine and Kelly came and watched and hung out after the run. We stayed out until after 11:00 (that's late for us)! We had a ball listening to old stories. Thanks Memaw and Pepaw for keeping the kids for us!!!

Snaggle Tooth

Marley making Daddy proud- she has a toothbrush in her mouth! Where did my baby go? SK's bottom tooth has been loose about 2 weeks. Everyday she and Will wiggled it 10 times. Will picks her up at 12 on Wednesdays (he has Wed. afternoons off) and they usually have lunch together. So, this past Wed. she called my cell phone and said, "Guess what, Mommy!" Yep, the tooth is gone. My little girl is a snaggle tooth. She lost it in the gym and they couldn't find it! This is just where the fun started. Most of you know SK is terrified of any seasonal animal or person coming to her house while she sleeps (thanks to the Elf on the Shelf!!!)~ ie. Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc. If you remember, we left the Easter baskets outside for the bunny this year. At bedtime she starts crying to Will, "Can you please call the tooth fairy and tell her not to come in the house. You have to know her phone number, you're a dentist!" I'm thinking, smart kid! Will plays along, puts a call into the fairy and poof- no tooth fairy at night! She granted our request~ Come in the morning, when SK is brushing her teeth and leave the loot on the screened porch. What an accomodating tooth fairy.
That sweet fairy brought 3 bucks, a book and even sprinkled fairy dust everywhere.
My big girl in her cheerleader suit on pep rally day, minus a bottom tooth! Guess what- the top tooth is now loose.

Happy Birthday MeMaw

We celebrated MeMaw's birthday at the Mexican Restaurant on Aug. 15th. We had fun visiting with Memaw and Pepaw and wishing her a happy birthday. This is the only pic I got- Coop wouldn't cooperate and Memaw was looking down- but it's still cute of Memaw and her grandbabies.

Jellystone Park

We just got back from an AWESOME weekend at Jellystone Park in Pelahatchie. It's one of the best kept secrets around here. On Friday afternoon we headed to the big city of Pelahatchie with the Ellises. We got there and checked into our cabin. The grill was closed so we drove into town and experienced some fine dining, at WARD'S! Saturday morning we woke up to overcast skies~ we were bummed but determined we wouldn't let the drizzling rain slow us down. We went on a hayride (they called it a hayride, but there was no hay) with Yogi Bear. After that, we went to the water park and what do you know~ it cleared up and the sun was out for the rest of the weekend. We didn't realized Jean Elaine's co-worker, Terry and his family would be there and the Hale's and the Pratt's from Canton were there staying in cabins right behind us! They were celebrating Chaney's 4th birthday and invited us to come see BooBoo bring Chaney a cake- the kids loved it! Sat. night we went to watch Cars on the outdoor movie screen. Please look at the 3rd picture in the 4th row- you'll see Will and Cooper having a stand off in the lawn chairs at the waterpark. Coop was throwing a fit and Will put him in "time out" and told him he could get up when he stopped crying. I know they sat there for 7 minutes- Coop crying and Will with his arms crossed~ he was not budging. The only thing that saved Coop was Terry's little boy, Cooper fell and hurt his mouth and they needed a dentist. Sunday morning we packed the truck and went back to the waterpark for a few hours. At the end, Cooper was eshausted and fell asleep in the lawn chair- I PROMISE we left shortly after that. We will definitely go back~ we had a blast, I highly recommend it. (Click on the group of pictures to view them all closer).

Big School

I can't believe my baby is in 5 year old Kindergarten. I really took it better than I thought I would- but it still makes me sad. On her first day of school, she and Will made her favorite breakfast~ PANCAKES!
Picture Perfect
SK and Mrs. McKay~ I know she'll have a great year. Mrs. McKay has been at CA for years, I can't wait to see what she learns this year.

A Girl and Her Dogs

You should hear SK talk to her puppy, Marley. She talks "baby talk" to her and it is the funniest thing. This dog rides in the babydoll stroller and basically does just what SK wants her to (most of the time). This picture captures Princess SK in all her glory. She runs the show where Cooper is concerned and he's happy to do what she tells him- as long as she plays with him. I wonder how long that will last. She has Cooper on a leash (don't worry- the leash is not around his neck, (Rule #12: Do not put anything around Cooper's neck) it is on his arm. She had Cooper on a leash and her stuffed animals on leashes too. As soon as I took the picture, Marley jumped on Coop's back and he said, "I don't want to be a puppy anymore, I want to be a boy!"

6.9.1945~ 8.6.2006

Two years ago today we lost my Dad to cancer. I lost an amazing father, my mom lost a loving, caring husband and our kids lost the most doting PawPaw there ever was. Many people lost a true friend and the world lost one of the kindest, most humble men that ever lived.

I miss you, Dad!
