Easter

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. I love the change of seasons but most importantly I love the promise of Easter~ That our King has risen and will come again. What peace to know we will be with Him someday. Easter morning we went to church and came home and had Nana, Memaw, Pepaw, Granny and Papaw Henry over for lunch. Rebecca and the boys joined us after lunch for hiding eggs. It was a great day!

The Bunny

Every year Will and Sara Kennedy dye eggs for the Easter Bunny. When he brings the baskets- he hides the eggs in the yard. This year Sara Kennedy decided she didn't want the Easter Bunny to come inside (do you remember the Elf on the Shelf at Christmas??) So, we had to leave our baskets on the front steps AND I had to sleep with her in the guest bedroom. A couple of times during the night she would day, "Mommy, do you think the Easter Bunny can hop high enough to see through the top of the window?" The bunny was sweet enough to leave their treats outside. One of our friends said, "Next year, you'll have to put the Christmas Tree in the yard!" Think about it: An overgrown bunny hopping into your house in the middle of the night to leave some jellybeans and a chocolate rabbit? I'd be scared too! ;)

The Park

Over Spring Break we met our friends~ Mason, Jett & Stone, Swayze & Keaton, and Kate at the park for a picnic and to play. Here are some cute pictures of our fun time!

Teeth

Sara Kennedy got her teeth cleaned for the second time a couple of weeks ago. She actually likes it! She didn't have any cavitites! Her sweet dentist (Daddy) gave her 2 coins for the treat machine!

Mickey and Birmingham

We just got back from a GREAT weekend in Birmingham. We went to see Playhouse Disney Live with the Martin and Ellis families. It was great! Saturday night we met The Mayos at Davenport's Pizza and then walked down the street for ice cream. Jennifer, Rob, and Mason were in town visiting Jenn's family. She was so sweet to tell us where to go and what to do (not to mention how to get there!) Sunday we went to the Birmingham Zoo and had a blast (those pics to come)

K4 Easter Egg Hunt

We had the K4 Easter Egg Hunt at our house Friday. The weather was perfect and the kids were so sweet! Before they got here, Will hid almost 100 eggs. I think they were more interested in playing than hunting eggs. Everyone had a fun day! We've gotten spoiled having only 8 kids in Sara Kennedy's class this year. She's learned so much! She's starting to read some words! She's asking me to get my Dr. Seuss books down from the attic (I told her I had a bunch from teaching school)~I can't believe this school year is almost over and she'll be in "real" kindergarten next year- where has the time gone?

SNOW!

We woke up a couple of Saturdays ago to Sara Kennedy bursting in our door~ YELLING, "It SNOWED!" We immediately got up and put on our coats and ran outside to play- she had so much fun making snowballs to launch at Will. Cooper didn't really know what to think- but anything that can be thrown is fun to him. What a fun morning! ( I realize Will has on flip flops~ go figure?)

For Tricia

I'm addicted~ I've stumbled across a blog called Confessions of A CF Husband. It's about Nathan, his wife Tricia (who has Cystic Fibrosis), and their MIRCALE baby Gwyneth who was born very premature. Tricia is in the hospital awaiting a Double Lung Transplant and baby Gwyneth is in the hospital too. If you really want to witness God at work, check them out at www.cfhusband.blogspot.com. WARNING: It's addictive! Nathan has asked blogging moms to make a Mommy List for Tricia about things she can look forward to, I thought this sounded like fun. So, here goes.
As a mommy, you'll get to...
~ Wonder what you ever did without her
~ Receive endless bouquets of wildflowers
~ Have your favorite lipstick smeared all over her face (and broken)
~ Have her ask, "Why can't I marry Daddy?"
~ Give "Mommy Snuggins"
~ Cry the first day she goes to Mom's Morning Out- and feel guilty about loving your 3 hours of "quiet time"
~ Take her to get her first manicure when she stops sucking her thumb, only to have her start back
~ Beam with pride as she dances as a bunny rabbit at her first dance recital
~ Take her to Sunday School and Wednesday night church and thank God that she's learning about HIM
~ Wonder how she manages to get Grandparents to buy her anything she wants
~ Have a special Lunch Day with Daddy (almost every Wednesday they have lunch at the Chinese Buffet)
~ Have the BEST shopping buddy ever!
~ Have endless giggles fill your house over silly things
~ Have a million baby dolls around your house and every one have a name
~ Swear you'll never spend "that much" on an American Girl doll- only to buy the doll, the outfit, and the diaper bag~ when she's 1 year old
~ Laugh as your mom pays way too much for a baby that sucks her thumb like she does- because she won't leave the store without it (again, when she's only one year old!)
~ Date night with your man takes on a whole new meaning
~ Become even closer to your husband and thank God for giving your girl such a Godly daddy
These are just some of the wonderful things about being a mommy of a little girl~ I know you'll make many, many precious memories with your new family. (We have a little boy who's pretty sweet too!) Wishing you all God's blessings!

PANTHER RUN

Cheese~ Rebecca and Jennifer
Now that's a good friend~ to get up and be somewhere at 7:30 a.m. on a Saturday morning! Tonya, Sharea, Jennifer, and me
Terry, Perry, and Lee (The Incredibles!)
Sara Kennedy's AWESOME K4 teacher, Anna Brown (2nd from left) and her husband Brad and friends~ Anna played a HUGE role in making this run happen. She was our recruiter! I love her!
Woo Hoo~ As all of my friends know, I've been planning the 1st Annual Panther Run for the past few months and it has finally come (and gone:) We had over 130 participants and I just have to give a shout out to a few of my sweet friends for coming. Everybody did awesome! The only friends I got pictures of were Rebecca Martin and Jennifer Burnside and a pic of Tonya Barber, Jennifer Mayo, Sharea Myrick and myself. The rest of the time I was running around like a crazy woman. I was so excited when it started (I didn't even have time to stretch). Everyone did awesome~ Sharea finished 3rd in her age group. Ashley Wren kicked tail and ran it in 26:38. My time was my best ever (thanks to my marathon running sister- in-law, Amy- (aka. my personal trainer) and some kick tail Rocky music, I ran it in 29:17, beating my goal of under 32:00!) Lee Powell is a speed demon, her time was 26:32- she won 1st in her age group. And Jean Elaine Ellis, speedwalker woman came in 2nd in her age group at 38:39. Can I just say, My Bunko group was "REPRESENTING!" My friend Done' Davidson (who just had a baby a couple of months ago) placed 2nd in that group with 40:15~ now those chicks were doing some walking. Will's cousin, John's wife, Ellen Rings won the OVERALL 5K Walk with a time of 34:47- she was "scootin!" Wendy Woods did awesome run/walking and Elizabeth Pace and Noel Webb did great too. My friend Dees Guidry came and STROLLED baby Alex! There are so many others that I'm friends with that have kids at CA and came out too! Thanks to Tammy, Stephanie, and Kelley who made donations- but couldn't come (we missed y'all and Stacey had to work :( It wouldn't have been such a success without all of the AWESOME volunteers ~ too many to list, who spent so much time working on this project with me. Some volunteers I hadn't met until working on this and I'm so glad I got the chance to know them! I can't believe we didn't take a picture together! Thanks to my sweet in-laws for babysitting and volunteering! I can't wait until next year!Add Image

Two Peas in a Pod

Sara Kennedy and Landre love Mondays bc they get to take turns going to each other's houses until they have Ballet class. They usually have about 3 hours to play and always complain, "It's not enough time!" A couple of weeks ago, Landre came on a Tues. afternoon and played. They went upstairs to play in a CLEAN Play Room. About 3.5 minutes later, I went to check on them and found this...

how can they mess up a room that fast?

My Sweet Family

This is one of my favorite pictures ever! Will and the kids have a tradition of walking and getting the newspaper on the weekends. Coop usually brings up the rear ~ see picture. Even our cat, Po has started tagging along. I stand at the door and watch them. I love this crew!
