Cooper's 1st BB Gun

Cooper got his first BB Gun last weekend. Will gave him a list a mile long of "rules" to abide by. We stayed outside FOREVER watching him shoot targets. I love that Cooper shares Will's love of wildlife and all things outdoors. He had the best time (and so did we :)

Will and I took the kids to the Children's Museum Friday. They had so much fun! We capped it off with a trip to Barnes and Noble and lunch at Five Guys. Harper didn't make the trip :)

Wow! What a busy weekend celebrating Sara Kennedy AND Harper's bday! Who knew birthday partying could be so exhausting? BUT, we had so much fun! She had a Karoke party with lots of squealing girls! The highlight was definately Will dressing up as and singing Justin Bieber's Baby, Baby!!!! I'm still SHOCKED he did it! What a sweet Daddy! Happy Birthday to our precious, SK!

Sara Kennedy LOVES horses. She has adored them since she was a little bitty thing. Today we went to Aunt Shirley and Uncle Gary's house and she & Cooper got to ride one of their horses, Goldie. We had such a fun day visiting with them, Nana, Dede and Aunt Ann. The weather was beautiful and I loved seeing the huge grin on SK's sweet face when she was with Goldie.

WOW~ what a busy day we had at CA today. The 1st and 2nd graders performed a cheer and dance at the pep rally this morning. Then, at 2:00 the 1st and 2nd graders had a tailgate party on the playground. At 6:00 we tailgated before the CA football game and at 6:45 they performed on the field. We had a fun day! Go PANTHERS!!!

We are so blessed to have two AWESOME teachers! Sara Kennedy is so excited to be in Mrs. Strong's class! And to say Cooper is "smitten" with Mrs. Hammett is an understatement- how cute is she? Lake Caroline
We had a blast out on Will's Dad's (Pepaw's) pontoon boat today. The Webbs and Ellises came with us. The kids are fearless. They've been unjoying the summer on the boat and had a blast with Mary Brieten and Zan. Even Jean Elaine, Noel and I got in on the action. Jean Elaine showed off some stellar standing moves until Pepaw threw her off. What a fun day!

New Orleans with the Kids

Will and I took Sara Kennedy and Cooper to New Orleans this past weekend (thanks Memaw & Pepaw for keeping Harper)! We went to the Aquarium, Cooper loved the sharks and SK loved touching a stingray. We went to the Louisiana Children's Museum where the kids got to shop in a kid sized grocery store (complete with real cash registers) and load cargo onto a kid sized barge. We walked around Jackson Square and ate at Cafe du Monde, swam in the rooftop pool at the hotel, went to the Insectarium (Cooper ate a chocolate covered worm & SK ate a chocolate chip cookie with crickets on top) and took the St. Charles trolley (my favorite part) down St. Charles and got to admire all of the old architecture and see some really pretty homes. It was too hot for the zoo and it started raining and we didn't get to ride the ferry. We'll have to plan another trip soon!

Sara Kennedy and Cooper just finished swim lessons with Mrs. Debra. This was Sara Kennedy's last year to take~ she "graduated." Makes me sad~ she's been going to swim lessons since she was 2. She is a great little swimmer. Cooper learned how to jump off the diving board and is swimming all over the pool. Lots of swimming in our future this summer!

The first grade class went to the Square. They had fun going through the Animation museum, riding the carousel, firetruck, and putting their ornaments on the Christmas tree! Christmas field trips to the Square will surely be one of their fond childhood memories!

We had a busy Thanksgiving. On Thursday we went to Will's Papaw Henry's and celebrated with his family (I took my camera and had no CF card in it :( ).
Today, we went to my cousin Dedra and her husband, Eric's house. Mom and her 3 siblings were there along with our great Aunt Ann. We had a fun time! I'm thankful for our families!

We're THRILLED to announce, we're having a GIRL! Everyone except Cooper that is. He told the nurse, "I don't like girl babies!" That was on Friday and as of today, he is warming up to the idea of having a little sister. He told me today, "I'll protect my baby sister and if anybody bothers her, I'll beat them up." I guess that's better than not liking her :) Sara Kennedy is beside herself! In this picture you can see her little hand stretched above her head~ Sara Kennedy was a little concerned and said, "That's not her hairdo is it?" I'm so excited she'll have a little sister! I always wanted a sister! Will and I are so happy~ Will did tell me that he and Cooper will be spending alot of time at Deer Camp and has already put his order in for a new four wheeler.

Will's Fishing Buddy

Will took Cooper and Sara Kennedy fishing on our lake Tuesday night after dinner. SK loves playing with the worms and is ready to move onto something else after she casts the reel about 3 times (she is just like her mommy). Cooper on the other hand, sat with Will for about an hour. I'm so glad he shares his Daddy's love of fishing. I snuck out back and took this picture while they weren't looking. Will was sitting behind him helping keep his reel steady. They are my precious boys! Coop caught 5 fish and I didn't get a picture of any of them because SK and I were chasing the hot air balloon that was flying over our house. I finally got inside to get the camera and got a shot of it. It flies over about once a week! Good times!

But, I am excited about getting back into a routine and even more excited that we're getting closer to our new addition's arrival! We had an awesome summer, we stayed on the go! The beach, Kansas City, Jellystone, and Tupelo visit with the Wiltshire's. This morning was Cooper's first day back to Mother's Morning Out. He loved it! He wanted to stay for Lunch Bunch AND wanted to leave his "snuffy" (blanket) in the car. What happened to my baby boy? Sara Kennedy had Meet the teacher at school and goes for a half day Thursday, and her first full day is Friday. She has the sweetest class (8 boys and 8 girls) and an AWESOME teacher, Leigh Luby. I know she'll have a great year!

Kansas City Visit

We had a blast visiting Aunt Amy and Uncle Michael (and Mudd and Mollie) in Kansas City. The first day we went to the park and had pizza for dinner. On Friday we went to the Crayola Store at Crown Plaza and the kids played in the fountains. We had a fun lunch at Fritz's. They have trains that bring your order, it was really cool! Friday night we went to a BBQ joint (can't remember the name- but boasted as one of the top 10 places to eat before you die :) Saturday Will and Michael hung out with the kids while Amy and I went shopping and Saturday night we went to the BEST Mexican restaurant I've ever been to and then for frozen yogurt. Sunday morning it was time to leave. We miss them already! What a super, sun trip!!!

Baby Lampkin #3

We are SO excited about our new addition due Feb. 14, 2010! We went for our doctor's appt. today and it really made it "real" seeing the tiny miracle inside my belly! Will and I are thrilled God has chosen us to look after another of his precious children! We are praying for a happy, healthy baby! Sara Kennedy is absolutely thrilled and will be the best big sister. Cooper is excited but doesn't really understand. I can't wait to meet our new addition!

4th of July

Let me start by saying I was a MAJOR SLACKER when it came to taking pictures 4th of July weekend. These are the only ones I got! I am 100% in the exhausted pregnancy stage right now and holding a camera is just too much effort. I'm hoping this will pass when I'm finished with my first trimester in a couple of weeks!!
We had a fun 4th~ Thurs. night we went to the Square for the balloon kick off- the kids had fun helping put a banner on a hot air balloon and running and playing. Saturday night Nana came up and went with us to the Lampkin's 4th of July Bash at Lake Caroline. Amy and Michael were in town which was extra special. There was a ton of food and Pepaw took us out on the pontoon boat to see the fireworks. I promise to take more pics when we go visit Amy and Michael in Kansas City in a couple of weeks! Happy Birthday America!

This is the first summer we've gone to Destin, just the 4 of us! We had so much fun! The weather was perfect and the kids were too! We had fun at the beach, the pool, went to the Gulfarium, Destin Commons, crabbing, and ate way too much!

Swim Lessons with Lu Lee

We finished our summer lessons with Ms. Lu! She's in her mid 70s and still teaching. Sara Kennedy really did great~ she's learning all the different strokes and is a fantastic little swimmer! Cooper did good with some fussing in between. But, by vacation Cooper was swimming like a little fish! I have to really watch him, he's our daredevil! We didn't know it, but Steph and the girls were in our class. It was a fun two weeks!

Safari in LA

Kim, Mrs. Bobbie, Mom, and I took the kids to the Safari in New Delhi, LA. It really was a lot of fun! You can drive your car through or take the "trolley". I opted not to get my Suburban scratched up by horns and antlers and we took the trolley. It was a fun day.

15 Year Class Reunion

On the last day of school, I surprised Sara Kennedy by picking up her, Blair, Abbey Grace, and Landre in the car rider line. When they got in the car, I said, "Guess where we're going?" We had lunch, then went to see the Hannah Montana movie. You could have heard them squealing all over Madison county. I never knew four 6 year olds could be that loud! They were so sweet~ I was EXHAUSTED by the end of the day! Thanks to Memaw for keeping Coop~ I don't think he would have fit in well!

My First 8K

I just ran my first 8K (4.98 miles). Sharea talked me into training for it, and in turn I drug Kathy into it. Kathy lives in our neighborhood and we run together about 3 mornings a week. She is such a blessing in my life. I look forward to our early morning runs and talks! Sharea, Kathy and me before the run. Sharea talked me into running about 2 years ago and I am so glad she did. It is an awesome stress reliever! And Sharea always sends me the funniest text messages after our long runs :)

Cooper had his first game this past weekend. He was so excited about wearing his uniform and cleats. He went up to bat and people started cheering, "Go Cooper!" Bless his heart- I guess he didn't know they were "cheering" and he thought he was in trouble and being yelled at. So, he ran off the field, out of the dugout, and straight to his mama! After a little persuading he rejoined the team and did good. I think SK is more excited than Cooper, she can't wait to go to the games and she said, "I'm just glad I don't have to wear that outfit!" Like mother~ like daughter!

We had SK's class over for their Easter Egg hunt today. The kids had so much fun and the weather was perfect!! Will even got to come home for a while and got in on a little trampoline action with them ~ be sure to click on the collage for a better look!

Stone's Party

Stone had a fun, fishing birthday party at Pa Jay and Bitsy's lake. SK caught a fish~ Coop just liked casting his reel. What a beautiful day for a party. Happy Birthday Stone!

St. Paddy's Parade

We had a great time at the St. Paddy's Day parade with Terry, JE and Zan. We ran into Steph, Tony and the girls. The kids had a ball. SK caught so many beads- after the parade we went to Cool Al's (Stamps) for an awesome burger, came home for a little while, and headed to Stone's bday party. We had a BUSY, fun Saturday!

Grandparent's Day at CA

Last Friday was grandparent's day! Our kids are so blessed to have the BEST grandparents in the world! Will's parents, Memaw and Pepaw and my mom, Nana (and my sweet daddy, Pawpaw). They also have some wonderful great grandparents, Granny and Pawpaw Henry! Memaw, Pepaw, and Nana came to Grandparent's Day and SK LOVED showing them off.

Sara Kennedy made a "shield" at her art lesson today. They talked about Ireland and she told me she wanted to put a cross on her's for Jesus. On the way home, she and Cooper were discussing their intent for the shield. Here's how the conversation went:
SKL: Cooper, when we get home do you want to be the King or the Dragon
CJL: The mean farmer
SKL: You CAN NOT be a mean farmer, they don't use shields
CJL: MOMMY!

Gatti Town~ SK's bday

We went to Gatti Town Wednesday night for Sara Kennedy's "real" birthday. Zan went with us and we met Ms. Beck, Bax, Jon David and Carson. The kids had a blast. Two of the highlights were Zan and SK's faces when they rode the ride that goes all the way to the ceiling- none of us realized it went that high! and Carson crawling down the bowling lane after the ball and Rebecca having to take off her heels to chase him. Happy Birthday Baby Girl

6 years ago, God blessed us with one of the sweetest gifts we'd ever know, a baby girl. From the time she was in my arms I knew she was special! I've enjoyed watching her grow from a tiny baby (who never crawled), to a fun loving toddler, to a "big girl." This little girl absolutely adores her Daddy. When she was born he let her sleep on his chest in the hospital and since then, he's been wrapped around her little finger. Thank you God for this amazing little girl. Happy, Happy Birthday SK! Sara Kennedy and Lanre's B~Day Party

Sara Kennedy and Landre are the sweetest little friends. Landre was born Jan. 28th and SK was born Feb. 4th, exactly one week later. This year, Wendy and I decided we'd have their party together. The girls wanted an "All Girl Party." So, we had the girls from their class over and some of their other sweet friends and had a Pajama Party. We painted fingernails, put on Strawberry Shortcake tatoos, ate pizza, cupcakes and ice cream, opened presents, and danced to Hannah Montana on the dance mat. What fun memories these girls made. I can't wait to show them these pictures when they're in high school. Happy 6th Birthday girls! We went to Jon David's 5th Bowling Birthday party on Saturday. It was wild~ but fun! The kids had a blast. SK was a really good bowler (71)! Cooper was so funny, he wanted to do it all by himself. He would drop the ball and it would roll about 3/4 way down the lane and stop! Poor Will would have to walk down and finish rolling it.

Christmas Night~ Rings Family Christmas

This year we played Guys Dirty Santa and Girls Dirty Santa. It was fun! It was meant for Amy to go home with a wallet- it was a joke bc she had already gotten one for Christmas and almost ended up with 2 more. Papaw Henry graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy (years ago) and got a cool blanket from Uncle John- that he loved! It was a fun night. Until next year...

Christmas Morning

The rain held off for the kids to enjoy the trampline for a while. Santa didn't have time to put the "cage" on the trampoline, so Daddy gets to do that this weekend. There was only one meltdown Christmas morning (see Cooper on his knees on the floor) because he got a black dog and wanted SK's brown dog. Other than that, considering the amount of sugar consumed and all the excitement, smooth sailing. Click on the collage for a better view.

What a fun Christmas! Thank goodness Nana comes and spends the night on Christmas Eve~ due to the terrible Elf experience, SK is terrified of Santa coming in our house. So, she sleeps with mom in the guest bedroom. This year SK asked for American Girl twins and clothes and a trampoline. Coop asked for A superman, A batman, and A spiderman. Santa was good to us- the kids were so excited! He also brought a neat Puppet Theater and some cute aprons for Sk to cook with mommy and Coop to help Daddy on the grill!

Tutus

Will is going to kill me for posting this. Cooper and Sara Kennedy have had lots of together time since she's been out of school for Christmas and he's been home from Mother's Morning Out. Cooper LOVES to play with Sara Kennedy and will play whatever she wants as long as she includes him. This is their latest adventure. She's teaching him tap lessons, yes he is wearing tap shoes, pink leggings, and a pink tutu. Will had a fit when he saw him- and told him to put on his football uniform. I walked back in his room and Cooper said, "Mommy, don 't let Daddy make me take off my outfit." I think it's precious and I'm sure he won't have any long term side effects. We'll worry if he's doing this when he's 15 :)

Christmas with the Lampkins

We got together with Amy and Michael at Memaw and Pepaw's to exchance gifts on Christmas Eve. Sara Kennedy & Cooper got new bikes for Memaw and Pepaw's house~ they were so excited! It's always fun to spend time with Amy and Michael- we wish they lived closer (especially SK, she loves some Aunt Amy!)

Gingerbread Houses with Playgroup

Parent Observation at Ballet

We had Parent Observation yesterday at Ballet. SK did so good~ boy has she came a long way since she started! There are about 15 girls in their class and they are all precious! Cooper was so tired (he didn't get to have a nap yesterday :( He laid on the floor between Will and me and watched the show. Afterwards they had a Christmas party and exchanged gifts.

The Canton Square

I LOVE to take the kids to the Canton Square at Christmas. Will and I took them Friday night. We rode the horse and carriage, the carousel, the firetruck, the train, the cars (twice), drank hot chocolate, ate dinner at RJ Barrel and walked around and looked at all the lights. It was absolutely perfect (and cold)!

The Nutcracker

Painting Ornaments with Santa and Friends

We had a Girls' Morning Out the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Sharea, Wendy and I took our girls to Different Strokes and they painted the cutest ornaments with Santa. After painting we had lunch at the Mexican Restaurant. We all had so much fun! I picked SK's ornament up the next week and went to hang it on the tree AND I DROPPED IT!!! It shattered in a hundred pieces and it was so cute! Guess what we'll be doing next week while school's out!

Boys Watching Football

Memaw & Pepaw kept Cooper by himself overnight a few weeks ago. Well, of course SK had to have a turn by herself too. The night she was gone Will and Cooper watched an Ole Miss game on tv. Will and I had never heard Cooper talk that much, he didn't stop the entire time SK was gone. We realized with his motor mouth big sister, he never gets a word in! Cooper wore his helmet and snuggled up to his Daddy~ I love these boys!!
